Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

As promised! Burrito #2! 20.75 inches and 8.3 lbs, my wife told the nurses that Jessica was SMALL, having not seen our first child she got some looks.

Love the little smile :)

Babies are so darn cute! (No, I do not want any more of my own, but I can oogle other babies and do silly baby talk and then hand them back to mommy/daddy when they poop :D )

This is basically my position, except strike "more." kids are awesome.

At your age, it's wise to not want them yet!

Don't be afraid to re-asses your views in another 10-ish years.

Thanks guys, MIL watched our 2 yo last night while I spent the night at the hospital with my wife and Jessica, I am home with her alone tonight though until everyone comes home tomorrow, late morning. Weird feeling being home almost alone. I am usually the one not here.

I love babies!!!! I can't wait for my new grand babies to come. Only one of two things that is as good as flying. (not saying what the other thing is lol) She is so beautiful. Lot's of hair too! What a sweet little face. She looks so contented to be over the ordeal of birth and coming into the world. You just want to hold them and kiss them and keep them in your arms 24/7. Sigh. They love that bundling thing don't they? Makes them feel secure. Too damn cute. How is Mom? Well I hope. What does her her sister think so far? Has she seen her yet? She is just wonderful. Congrats to you both.

Sister is a bit rough so I am going to take some extra time on FMLA until she is really used to her, but she does love giving hugs and kisses. Mom is doing well, tired and sleeping now that everyone is home from the hospital. I don't know why nurses think it is ok to come in ever hour or 2 in the middle of the night, and then when they tell you they will back that never show up. Jessica broke her left clavicle coming out but it isn't causing her too much discomfort. So far she is sleeping a lot during the day and is up a lot at night, we are going to try and change that around.

The broken clavicle is not uncommon... being born is hard! :)

The older sibling thing... yeah it takes a while for big brother/sister to get used to the new arrival! My two are 19 months apart, so baby #1 wasn't quite old enough to have full out sibling-jealousy when baby #2 arrived... til about 6 months later when little baby was wanting to crawl around and chew on big brother's toys. Little brother's newfound mobility was not pleasing to big brother! They've been fighting over toys ever since... (they're 7 and 8 now).

She broke her tiny clavicle? Really? Yikes! How long does that take to heal? It's a rough deal being born. You see newborns with all kinds of red marks on their little faces or bodies and then their little heads are kinda squished/elongated from being in the birth canal which goes away fairly quickly, but man, rough ride.

I bet your wife is really tired and needs the time to heal. Excellent that you are taking the time off to be there for her and bond with your baby too. Your a good Dad and husband. Make her some nice meals. Pretty exciting isn't it? I would constantly go over to my kids when they were sleeping and check on them and just watch them sleep, make sure they were breathing, worry if they were too hot or cold, wet, did they need to eat, were they sleeping too long, whatever. Wore myself out. lol I wanted to be doing something even when there was nothing to do. When they were awake, all I wanted to do was hold them, talk to them and snuggle with them and touch them. I had a hard time going through that phase of making yourself not immediately pick them up every time they made a sound. I used to feel their skin constantly and must of said ten thousand times, does he/she have a temperature? Is she/he hot? I think my wife was happy when I went back to work. lol

My fave thing was giving them baths in their tiny tub in the sink. Man, I could do that every time. They love warm water and as they get a little older they really get into it and have so much fun. It made my day. We won't even get into all the baby sounds that they make. Those just make my heart soar.

I am really happy for both of you.

Its funny, we are trying to potty train our 2 year old but its a slow process, probably going to be put on hold for a while now, but after changing her diapers, She is a big girl with some BIG poo bombs, I am very uncomfortable changing the newborn's diapers now. She seems so tiny and frail. I do love holding her though, like a little ball of heat. This morning my wife said she is starting to look like a baby now. Newborns have a bit of an alien look to them. lol

I wouldn't push the potty training on the 2 year old. Especially with the new baby arriving.

And yes, when they get to that age they have some nasty poo bombs.
