For anyone interested, I just got to Vance AFB for UPT. If anyone has questions I'll do my best to answer as I go during my time here in Oklahoma. I'm waiting to go to IFS in the next few weeks so feel free to ask questions regarding getting a pilot slot, getting to the UPT base, what life is like etc.

Welcome dude, you're gonna hate Oklahoma. Good luck at IFS, pray you're not in B flight, and use the soft serve machine liberally.

Yeah, lots of dudes show up at their UPT base for duty before going to IFS.

Mostly, in the guard we show up for training and then go home afterwards. I guess sometimes the reserves keep guys on orders OTS through FTU, but I think that might depend as well.

True, I guess all the Reserve guys I know have reported to their unit before and in between assignments. Just sounded weird but I suppose its no different just that AD guys dont have a home unit quite yet.
