Section go, he got a bit wide but closed it in.

Break-up and rendezvous join..

Over the top, barrel roll (more like a baleron roll), he got spit out a bit coming down the back side but we had some drag on the wings (pylons)...he was also out of position before going into it but was closing when the maneuver was started..

Damn, these are awesome! Feels like I am right there almost. In the second video, what is the speed and what is the exact distance between you and the plane that crosses over you? These videos are just really neat. Hope you post more.

That was a 300KIAS join. We do both 250 and 300.

Wow. That is impressive. Now I really do feel like a bus driver. lol Nice camera too, very clear/ great resolution.

I really need to remember to come over to this forum more often.

It's the Contour HD helmet cam, their basic one. I had a Go-Pro which IMO had better video quality but was too bulky for the cockpit. This one is like a flash light, velcro's right to my helmet.

And them a column formation demo, hard to see lead..

So incredibly graceful. Seems like a funny adjective for a military trainer, but it's really beautiful. When does a joe blow like me get to see such a view like this. Never. Really terrific share.

Okay, I'm getting one of those. How much are they?

249, and the GoPro is 299. I agree with Bunk22, the GoPro video is better but it is a bit more bulkier.

I got mine off Amazon for $149.99 just a few months ago but now it's listed for the above price of $249....maybe mine is an older model?

They have a few different versions of it. Cheapest is 179 for the ROAM Camera, and 249 for the HD 1080p Camera. But the ROAM camera has better stats but is way cheaper, its confusing ha.

I always figured IMC in formation was something avoided.

I wouldn't say it is fun, but we do it all the time. There are ways to make it less painful, like configuring in VMC before penetrating into IMC, not taking more than a section of aircraft together through the wx, lead using pos lights if the clouds are real dark and thick, doing a radar trail departure if you have a/a radar (T-45's in this video don't though). It's actually easier than you might think (at least in terms of being able to see each other and stay in position), but it can be very spacially disorienting as a wingman, considering you are flying close parade and generally spending about 95% of your time looking at your lead and not at the instruments. This is where it really pays off to have set up your cockpit/nav/etc for the approach while on top in VMC, so you aren't trying to jockey around switches and displays while you are IMC and really can't safely take your eyes off flying form long enough to do some of those things.

I'll get some nigh form video soon...my qual expired, just have to get it back as I'm lacking on night time.
