Lightning Aviation, Inc is in need of 1 full time CFI. We are a141 flight school primarily providing Initial Flight Screening (IFS) for the Navy and Marines in PA28-140. We also have some civilian students. Salary: $31,000/yr 5 1/2 days a week. Visit our website @ foleyfbo.com or call 251-943-5214

What email address can i send my cover letter and resume to? The one on their website seems to be broken.

We just had a guy leave for the airlines so we will be in need of two full time CFIs ASAP. The boss also said that he will give us 2 days off a week once we are fully staffed. This is the perfect place to build time for all of you new CFIs. I've worked at a few different flight schools and I can honestly say that I can not imagine it geting any better as far as a flight school gos (especially once we start getting 2 days off). The students are so easy to teach because they are highly motivated, unlike many civilian students who are like dealing with 5 year olds and can only fly twice a month. We only work 8 hr days, four 1.3 lessons per day. The boss is very easy to work with and I've worked for some bad ones so I know how it can be. We don't have to wash planes or come in to do busy work on bad weather days since we are salary. If you want to work more on your days off you will be paid pretty well by the hour. Its a great gig. I'm really surprised no one has jumped on this yet. I thought it might be the 5 1/2 days/ week but, like I say, that will be gone soon. The location is probably also a factor, but its not in the middle of no where and its 10 min from the gulf so its a great place to be, especially in the spring and summer.

Well check back when your done because there are 3 guys here, including myself, that have the regional mins and we wont be around much longer.

I'm surprised y'all don't have some fart knocker retirees doing this gig. Seems like the perfect place for a 65+ year old Navy then airline retiree.

Just to keep you informed, I am still interested in instructing at Foley, AL once I graduate. I just wanted some more information on the job. How many hours does your average instructor get per month? Apart from the PA28-140, what other aircraft do you use? What is the cost of living in Foley, AL? And what is the pace of life there?

Sorry Ashneil, I forgot to respond to your message. Roger tried reaching you a couple of times and was unable. We usually fly a little under 100 Hrs a month. We have 5 Cherokees, 2 Warriors, 2 C172's, and a C320 (although the C320 needs both engines overhauled and will not be online anytime soon). The cost of living is average I guess, a decent appartment is around $600 a month. The pace of life is average too. Definately not fast, but like I said its not in the middle of no where. Its 20 minutes from Pensacola, FL and Mobile, Al, and 10 mins from the Gulf. Although we need people now, judgeing by the response to our advertising these positions may very well be available when you graduate.
