More Eagle Furloughs

Well. With how fast they were phasing out the ATRs you had to see it coming unfortunately. I'm sure there are other contributing factors. Hopefully those new guys getting furloughed will quickly pick up and get hired somewhere else. I see no reason to stick around and hope for recall when they have only been working there a few months.

Sucks even more because Eagle was hiring like gangbusters not too long ago, which seemed to be a good sign of things.

Hopefully this doesn't cut some of JC'ers that were hired lately :(

The offer still stands to help you get on at QX, but right now I can't say that I'd recommend that avenue with what's going on here.

Why does it always seem like we take 1 step forward and 2 steps back in the regional world...I blame O-bum-a

I've come to learn that any company hiring like that and no obvious sign of growth or attrition is a bad thing. Starcheckers know the deal, and it looks like Eagle. I would be curious in the world of aviation history how often this happens and if it's a sign to keep your distance.

When your company is at the mercy of a larger company it will always suck as there are no guarantees. In theory your company could exist today and be gone tomorrow. Just look at AWAC and US Air.

Happens in freight as well with UPS and DHL. At least when the economy tanks freight doesn't get hit quite as hard.

NO, it has to be OBUMA!!! :)

Gonzo, where did you hear this? Not saying I don't believe you, more that it really tick's me off to hear more from an internet forum then from our union, or company!
Also, I know there are guys sitting at home waiting on loft and IOE. I wonder if these are the guys, and gals that are being affected.

thanks, must have just missed it, been on sabre all day and never seen anything. I did just find a link on jetnet, but it's no good

Yeah, the 50 most junior are getting furloughed April 5th...it is being attributed to the parking of the ATRs. I see this as very temporary while AMR goes through the whole BK process.

Of course, why they didn't offer LTLOA is beyond me. Plenty of senior pilots would have jumped at the offer. But instead they choose to involunarily cut junior pilots who don't get paid anything anyway.

That is pure logic...airline style.

Uh...there goes my job. Well it was fun while it lasted. Back to unemployment. :(

Sorry man...are you one of the 50?

Like I said, this could all be very temporary. Back in 09 we furloughed 71 guys only to recall all of them six months later.

Again, the company should have offered LOAs from the top down but that would have made too much sense.
