If you want a good old WWII flick, see "A Guy Named Joe", which is the movie "Always" was a remake of. http://www.amazon.com/Guy-Named-Joe-VHS/dp/6301969162 Hard to find, but worth watching if you can get a hold of a copy.

Is this the one where the pilots in the movie decide to bone the pilots of another airline...say TWA...and then they give concessions to management to avoid BK...while management pays themselves millions in bonuses and then they have to declare BK anyway, to cut into their already pay-concession-pay?

Man, if he has to SAY he's a pilot he's doing it wrong. If he had epaulets, spiky hair, and aviators, everyone would just KNOW.
Don't guys generally pull off the epaulets from their leather jacket or (aaaaaaaaugh!!!) epaulet sweater when they go out?

On an unrelated note is "Stewardess School" (1986). It's a totally cheese-filled 80's B-movie, and it is HILARIOUS. Get a six-pack, put a few away and watch this. The one I have is an old VHS copy, I don't think Netflix has it available and I don't know if it's ever even made it to DVD.

Wrong. The Blue Max is awesome. A naked Ursula Andress as well as several non-CGI'd flying scenes.
Twelve O'Clock High is good.
Tora Tora Tora has been a favorite movie since watching it for the first time since I was five. Awesome flying scenes.
The final scene in The Great Waldo Pepper is amazing. And Susan Sarrandon falling to her death from the wing of a Jenny while naked makes me warm and fuzzy. Because she's a pinko and all.

Okay, I just watched Sky Fighters. Probably some of the best aerial cinematography in a modern movie. Absolutely stunning.
The story and dialogue (dubbed from French) is downright retarded. That being the case, I'd highly recommend you get a copy of the DVD and watch it on mute.

Airport (the original). The scene with Petroni trying to get the 707 out of the snowbank. "The 707 can handle anything except a BAD pilot"
Airplane-Absolutely the best of all time. Just google best aviation movie and it comes right up
Midway-You're being paid to fly fighter planes, not sit in your bunk and cry over your girl's picture! You better shape up, Tiger, or some hotshot Jap pilot's gonna flame your ass!

Bah! Watching the more recent Red Baron on Netflix right now. What crap. It's a shame too because it seems like there was some effort to get technical and historical details right, but then Hollywood (or whoever) had to inject typical cliches and fiction into the story. Thumbs down.
