It is my great pleasure to announce that I have been weighed, measured, and found suitable to be designated as Naval Aviator in the United States Marine Corps.

Also, I got married.

Then I went to SERE-C west.

I don't recommend SERE-C for a honeymoon.

Awesome, triple congrats. SERE must have been cold this time of year. I went in May a couple years ago and it was still damned cold. You goin to the Raiders?

Stopping by the east coast for 6 months to get spun up on the Herc before heading to Oki. I am pretty excited about it! Finally going to see that magical, far away place, the fleet.

Congrats! I did SERE in Maine, in December. It was bad and hear Jan/Feb were worse. YUCK!

A few of the members of my Reserve SF team and I used to help harass you guys up in the Colville forest and at the camp many years ago. Congrats to you on your wings, a fantastic accomplishment (the wings and SERE:cool:)

The coldest I've ever been in my life was at SERE school in Warner Springs, CA in March!

The high-desert gets cold at night!

Kevin

P. S. Congrats on the wings

This time last year, I was in the mountains in Eastern Washington, freezing my nuts off.

Pay your dues!
A good friend of mine that used to fly F-111s told me about going out there for SERE training. The things he told me they did things (probably about 20 years ago) that I would be very surprised if they did now given all of the human rights stuff. But maybe they still do. Quite an experience?

It was super cold, even in May when it was 70+ near the beach. Only time I was really warm was in a giant man-spoon-circle on one of the first nights.
Oh I could imagine. I just moved out of Spokane and I am not looking back at all.

I was speaking of USN/USMC SERE in Warner Springs, CA (near Julian, CA east of SD), but I'm sure the one my brothers in blue attend is plenty cold out in eastern WA as well

Yeah, don't miss the nights in Julian... Went to SERE in March, '03. Nothing like temperature swings from mid 70's during the day to low 30's at night.
