You must be weak at reading sarcasm, sir... I could not give a crap about the APU. "But if it'll keep us out of bankruptcy I will do exactly as the company desires".

Well, if the company gets us to quit using the APU "so much", it'll save the $3.08/min operation from costing us $3 mil a year - which coincidentally is what the company could save if they reduced our pay by 5%... so, there you go, a little help from the pilots, and a little help from the union and bam!, $6 mil a year reduction in expenses.

I think what Trip is pointing out is that I posted in another thread regarding the APU and trying not to use it. Could be a boon - Delta pax complaining about hot temps in the aircraft, plus the fact that we're actually using more of Delta's fuel when we choose not to use the APU (5+ minutes at the gate each time with #2 running rather than the APU)...

That is all...
