Hopefully this isn't the trend.

On GLA site and hoping to not see it on other sites soon. I am 20 and was waiting to turn 21 mid year so I could venture into an airline. Damn....

I turn 21 after August 13. Now to call my parents and ask why they couldn't conceive me sooner lol JK

21 years old has always been a requirement for as long as I could remember. Your still young, you have plenty of time to fly airplanes. At your age right now you should be chasing girls not airplanes.

For people starting young if they can get into freight and get their turbine PIC and then go airline when they hit 23 they would be way ahead of everyone else.

I would totally focus on a college degree as a back up to a flying career, best advice I ever got in my life. Also makes you more competitive. a guy with just those ratings and TT flight or a guy and those rating and total flight time WITH a 4 year degree? Whoes gonna get hired? Plenty of time...

Couldn't agree more. I made the mistake of not having any fun or getting a degree.

I made that same mistake when I was 18 and 19. The best advice that I could give any young person is to get that four year degree and have some fun while you are doing it. Once your youth is gone, you can't get it back. Unless someone invents a Star Trek style transporter, airplanes will still be around.

I know how you feel, I was born in November of 1990. But, I figure this is my new best excuse for not wanting to go to the regionals, and to try more for the Part135 cargo instead.

I chase work. I love work.
True.

They (women) doubtless find you handy. Ask me (in person) sometime about how I fixed a toilet that was running, though (simple repair, so simple even us Californians can do it) and got massive "handy" cred out of it, though. You have to come back to the Lower 48, man.

Nice! I am really thinking I will have to go south at some point. Problem is I absolutely love the lifestyle here.

As a 21 year old, I will tell you that you can totally do both. In fact, they often go hand in hand.
