Forum Suggestions

A kind of "JC Security Council?"

There would be five permanent Admins and group of elected Moderators (with term limits). The site would rely on voluntary donations from members and be the focus of all conspiracy and anti-NWO enthusiasts.

I've been a part of a site with "elected moderators"... the elected moderator thing didn't work out very well. It ended up being a popularity contest that resulted in "notorious" members being elected, instead of people who actually have the temperament needed. The "mod staff" selection process was revamped within a few months.

Me too. It sucked pretty badly in fact. Really really lousy outcomes, lousy moderation.

Doug, I'm pretty sure this has been suggested/tried already but, what about a Thread Rating system. It would work like the "What's New" button but bring up the most popular conversation of the day/week/hour.

You can rate them by putting a start next to the thread title...say 1-5 stars...I figure it would work just like the "Like" function on posts.

...just an idea so I know what are really popular, instead of some GoJets bashing thread...

It'll work out as a stopgap until we implement the "nextgen" Automatic Troll Detection and Feeding System... eventually the forum could be completely powered by circular trolling.

Probably next week or the week thereafter.

The firewall filters are a ridiculous abberation and are the bane of webmasters worldwide.

In forum chat, again, is coming until someone screws the pooch! :)

The new software takes a whole new approach to cranking out pages so it should be more compatible with IE.

Since we have had issues with n00bs who ask the same questions. How's about an FAQ section that lists a lot of the questions. Such as what the IATA codes are for airlines, etc. Probably not worth it since people will probably just post anyways, but a thought.

We could name it Mind Numbing Topics or something like that! :)

No bad example, people who feel good about typing WN over SWA are lame.
End the lameness. Don't spread it.
"I told her I worked for WN..." Wait what? Oh you are that guy.
"What? It's faster."

but really we want to talk about
