Pilot Follows GPS - Lands on Road

Just another case of a student pilot with SJS...he's in a Cirrus and landed on "Citation Road"...it's pretty easy to figure out! Here's the airport in question...not that hard to pick out that it's an airport, is it?

It's pretty obvious the runway is on the left. That is 100% where I would land!

We must be missing some information here. First of all, who follows a GPS all the way to touchdown in VMC? How could you possibly not realize it was a road? Why would you continue the landing after realizing it? A student pilot in a Cirrus?

I'm calling it: drugs.

I mean, who knows? For all we know, the GPS could've had a gun to his head, and forced him to land there. Lets give some benefit of the doubt here.....

Plus, look at Google maps, it's an easy mistake, what with the road being less than a mile from the real runway and they look a lot alike, I mean they're both paved and...northerly...and... paved...

Dave Torro saw the plane land in his neighborhood and tells 10 News he spoke with the pilot afterwards. According to Torro, the pilot was from China and did not speak English well.
