Loving this! I sense a bumpy ride. Might not be getting mail for a couple days.

Good shots - that DAY control tower definitely stands out.

Agreed. Good shots. I was just there today and was wishing I had my camera with me.

The new DAY control tower is awesome.... Anyone know if the TRACON there will eventually reopen or if it is going to be CHM approach from now on

It was a little weird talking to CMH approach going into Dayton today. Then again, it has been a long time since I have been in there too.

And people say Southern California doesn't have weather. Try flying a coupled ILS in calm wind through 1000 feet of overcast! That will put hair on your chest.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!!

I don't think they are going to reopen the TRACON. It's just not busy enough, not to mention the scopes they had in Dayton were really old and prone to breaking. I haven't had any problems with the new set up other than it it's harder to get wrong way approaches now that it takes a phone call and not just a yell upstairs.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!!

On one trip to Long Beach in the Seminole we flew through a layer almost 2000 feet thick. They were reporting overcast 1200 and we broke out at 900 only to see a DC-3 crossing our path.
