Aerial Mapping Pilots Needed

Just sent in my resume. As far as relocation: I understand that it's required, however I live approx. 8 hours from MCI, would I be able to commute considering the schedule is 8 on/6 off?

They want you within 2 hours of MCI. Luckily I was in ICT so, no move for me.

Man, all this reminiscing you guys are doing almost makes me miss it....Almost.

That company has gone down hill. I hear their safety officer isn't qualified for the position

You talking about Air Associates? Got an interview coming up with them, so any info would be helpful.

I don't know if he's poorly executing a joke or trying to stir things up, but don't worry about. AAK is a good company. If the job suits your personality and you like KC, you'll be fine.

I'm not sure if this is someone who is confused, messing with me or both as I've been the Safety Officer at AAK for over two years now and have worked for them for almost 3. All you have to do is look back in the thread and read the posts from current and former employees. AAK is great place to work and we are all treated very well.

The impression I got is the company, if anything, is very safe. Almost overkill safe. At least compared to what I'm used to. Seemed very safety oriented.

I see what everyone is talking about. Seems like a really good company to work for. Anyone who went to the interview care to share thier experience/gouge? I waiting for a buddy to give me a buddy pass then I see the place they are at is about 40 miles to the north of MCI.

180 that, we're about 40ish to the south of MCI.

Situational awareness? Don't worry, with a Garmin 600, 530/430 and a Garmin 496 in each plane....you'll find it.:D

JK!

Well, that's what I get for looking at a google map that said they were in Olathe, KS. Then it pointed and mapped it north of the KC metro area. Hey, I am from Florida....

I'm sure someone will eventually lose SA, somehow. With all that magic and a second pilot, though, it'll be an embarrassing day.

I've been lost when flying with another pilot when he got so wrapped up in programming the box. The magenta line of death, indeed. Never again will I ride backseat.

@ floridabeachbum read your posts in the Air America threads and this one as well. Just curious to know what kind of times you have if you care sharing.

I am new to the site looking for a gig like this. I have 425 TT with around 170 ME, to you guys out there who currently do Aerial Mapping, are those hours considered "good enough"? Also live fairly close to KC as of right now.....within 3 hours. This job is of much interest to me, is it too late? Thanks for any info guys! Cheers
