Cheapest aircraft rental in US

The school I go to is $65 or $70/ hr wet for the 152 (not 100% sure, but somewhere around there- I never fly it). The Senecas are also pretty reasonable, but not sure as I don't fly multi either. It is in Florida near Daytona. Give them a call and ask what the rates are now. http://www.flyfte.com

If you want suggestions I would tell you to do a little homework, call some reputable flight schools and talk with the chief pilot or a senior instructor. If you are able, talk to some of the students and you will get a good idea about the place. If you are making decisions strictly on the cost of rental, what you almost always end up with is poorly equipped aircraft, instructors who are unhappy (usually translates into poor quality instruction), and maintenance that is not top notch. Why put your certificates in jeopardy to save a couple hundred bucks on recurrent? Again, these are just my suggestions.
I'd say that isn't always true. The school I go to is about the cheapest around. Most of the planes have Garmin 430s. I think all are IFR certified and all are well maintained. The instructors are all great.

I'd say that isn't always true...

I'll second amjon. In fact, around here, if you were to rent one of the more expensive planes around you'd get an aircraft that some mechanics refuse to touch because it has a damaged wing that the owner doesn't want to pay to fix and the mechanics dont want their names in the logs for it... So, don't assume more money = better quality. Often higher costs simply come from being based at a more expensive location or having more overhead and that cost has to be passed along to the consumer.

tell the flight school your situation. a lot of times you can get a discount if you buy something like 50 hours.

I am agreed with amjan. http://www.flyfte.com has the cheapest planes and well trained instructors. They help me to buy cheapest ME block hours, and to convert my overseas licenses. The owner is very nice person, you are not $$$ sign at there. Also they provide very reasonable housing and free local transportation. I highly recommend that school to every body. Good luck to you!

i have tried emailing them, but no reply..
Call them. Sometimes they aren't the best at emailing back. If you don't get an answer the dispatcher doesn't work on Sunday or Monday, but he is there pretty much all day from 10 on all the other days.

Mazzei's Flying Service out of fresno, California has what you need and has been dealing with the DGCA for years. They have many current Indian students and plenty of planes and instructors to satisfy your needs. Not sure on currents prices, contact them to find out what prices they can offer you. The fog can roll in during December, but weather tends to go to crap everywhere in the winter. flymfs.com

I'm looking to do the same thing. I have been researching and found 2 or 3 schools in Florida that would be a good possibility. I need to build 100...I was hoping by the end of October, but now it doesn't look possible. If you want to split time and get it done ASAP, please email me (pilot12b@gmail.com). I actually live in Nashville, but I can't find people to fly with here, so I'm heading to Florida to split the time. Thanks.

I believe the cheapest aircraft rental in the US is in Burlington NC: Cessna 152 for $50/hr WET. It is usually $75 plus a $10 fuel surcharge, but they dropped the fuel surcharge and until the 22nd they have a $25 off special for all of their aircraft. I would be flying to the Bahamas right now but I can't take advantage of the deal because I'm in North Dakota :concern:
