I had a question about a cross country flight and to see if the entire flight would count towards the cross country hours required for instrument rating.
Take off - Republic Airport (KFRG) & Landing - Central New Jersey Airport (47N) Distance: 55.3 nm.
Due to Class Bravo in the way, the actual flight path distance will be approximately 61 nm.
I wanted to make the return trip via Hudson River and back to KFRG, which means the return leg instead of 61nm will now be approximately 70nm. The Total Round Trip instead of being 112 nm will now be 130nm. There maybe 1 touch & go at KFRG on the way back as well before a full stop, but there may not be.
Would the entire flight count as cross country towards Instrument rating, or should I log two flights, in case the only the 61nm counts and the return may not.
Thanks
