It seems it's already stated with "Relocation required" but I'll ask anyway. There's no wiggle room on airlines out of other locations to the work site (KPHX for example)? I heard they did this in the past so I thought I'd ask.

Oh well. Maybe next time. Thanks. Did they used to do that though? I had a friend that I think worked for them and flew him out of San Diego or something like that. Maybe different.

It's a thing of the past and I know who you're talking about. There's a big long story to it all, but long story short, relocation to KC is required.

Bummer. I'd do that possibly long term if that was still possible. Oh and of course assuming they would want to hire me. I didn't mind survey work and I loved flying the 206.

They must have had a problem with someone not making a flight or something from a different area. What if you agreed to be in KMCI for arrival and departure at your own expense?

I don't know what's so hard to understand about "relocation required". Yes, it may not be the best thing in the world but that's what the company requires. If you can't relocate to KC (great city btw) then this job won't work for you.

Exactly. Kansas City really isn't a bad place to live. If I didn't already have a totally awesome job, I'd be all over this one, since I've been around OJC forever.

10 posts before someone brought up BBQ, though it might have been in the Benefits section of the job description...

applied...and interview tuesday. any tips?

Know all Cessna 206 limitations and be very proficient on your IFR skills and knowledge, there will be a test.

The above is completely false and you wasted your time reading it. Show up and don't be a complete idiot and you're good. (marginal idiots are still ok)

For those asking about relocating... you'll be home every other week (and probably for a month or 2 over the winter if previous trends continue), much more than can be said for EVERY other mapping gig. Not that I ever actually lived in KC, but its a decent job and worth the move they require if you're a low time guy.
