Aerial Survey (about that time again)

When did they start doing this? Do they fly you down etc? I was told to sit tight as they would be in contact with me later. Hope I get the call. I didn't get the "Dear Bum" email of rejection so here's to hope.

They left me a voicemail yesterday saying that they would pay for my flight and hotel to come interview. I already accepted a job elsewhere so I'm going to let them know I won't make it.

@1wrangler, if you don't mind sharing your hours?
I'm trying to gauge what sort of applicant AA is interested in.

I just got a call from AA offering a fly in interview. I turned it down because I've got too much going on at home (CFI training and finishing college) to take that sort of job. He said if they fly you out they ask you to sign a letter of intent to work for them that season because they don't want pilots flying in to simply gain interview experience. Don't worry if they haven't called you yet, they are still working their way down the list and I was told they are look for about 5 pilots.

Thanks for the update. As for me, still no rejection e-mail, but also no phone call. Have to be patient. Waiting for a response is nerve racking, to say the least. Has anyone tried e-mailing them or calling to check on their status?

I don't think it'd do you much good. They have their list and calling/email them will most likely not change it.

Just curious - anyone know if any of the few dozen companies out there around midwest? Seems most i've seen are either west coast, texas, or down south (mid and east).. Curiosity killed the cat, i know..

I see. Well, one would think that if they decided to pass over someone they would at least give you a courtesy "Dear John" letter.

Disregard. I see where a fellow JCer was hired by them last year and had to wait a few weeks. So just because a person doesn't hear something doesn't mean they were passed over. Congrats to those getting the call, please keep us updated with your gouges and experiences.

We're almost smack-dab in the middle of the country.

Congrats to all who heard back from anyone. I'm wondering how many TT you guys have/had when they called back. I'm guessing my 300 TT didn't cut it and want to ball park how many more hours I need improve the odds.

I got a callback with 300 TT, so your not out of the running based on that.

Hey Everyone,
I have an interview with LAI at the end of the month. Anyone have any addvice on how to prepare? My TT is 305.
-Thanks

citrus,007, you guys hear anything yet? Still waiting myself or am I being foolish? :insane:Oh well still got those CFI ratings to finish up. Hopefully get on with Transpac aviation, though I would strongly preference ATP.

Rae Rae, check over at airline pilot central, whole write up on LAI. MAy have to do a search though. Hope you make it!

I just got an email back from AA yesterday stating that my resume had been added to the applicant pool. Hopefully something good comes of this :).

@floridabeachbum - yeah I'm not holding my breath for this, although it would be great to get on with AA.
I have a friend of mine at Tpac right now and he absolutely loves it, I had a chance to visit him and I think they have a wonderful program out there.
When are you expecting to get done with your cfi cert.?

I am using WIA funding to help me. So once that gets into place I am looking at 30 days or less. But it's all up to WIA. Yea, while I would have liked to get on with AA, I'm not holding my breath also. Oh well. I know a girl that currently works for them and she loves it too. ALL Multi time and they are giving her a free jet course once she finishes. Me thinks this is the better way to go.

Look into Tpac a bit. The two people I was in groundschool with from Tpac said they are losing contracts left and right. Just something to check out.
