I just interviewed and accepted a class date which I am really excited about! The gouge is dead on with the written test although it looks like they swap questions in and out here and there to keep the pilots guessing. The interview went well and they were really friendly, they weren't looking to burn you, they want you to do well. The sim was the hardest, it was a PCATD set to fly the King Air and they had the sensitivity turned all the way up, you cough and you've lost 100 feet and your in a 45 degree bank. Just take your time, fly it two fingers and review the approach thoroughly. The examiner will do everything for you including setting the throttles, radios, frequencies. All I did was takeoff, vectored around for the ILS, procedure turn inbound and shoot the approach, they just want to see that you can fly and have situational awareness. Then van ride back to the airport and wait for us to call... which they did.
As for your ticket, I don't know or want to say too much, but I know someone that knows people there that have had hiccups similiar to yours. Did they call you on the airlineapps.com website? Or cold call off a resume? I think there is a section on airlineapps where your supposed to divulge that stuff, if this is your first chance to tell them the truth, just be honest and you should be fine. I would still write it in even though its not driving related, it comes off as shady/sneaky if you play the, "well you didn't ask!" game especially since it is alcohol related. Also in some of the gouges over the years I remember reading about someone being cut loose from the ground school because he didn't divulge an MiC.
Just my opinion. Good luck to all the other applicants!
