The only 100% thing you can count on with an aviation career is that at some point, something bad will happen. Furlough, bankruptcy, medical, bent metal. Pick your poison.
I wouldn't say that's 100% guarantee. I know a few retired guys at the glider club who made it through their careers without experiencing anything you mentioned. It's all luck
