I want to be a pilot I know they prefer 4 years of college but I want to go to college for criminal justice and this college has a bachelor degree in 3 years will this work for the airlines. Do they want a bachelor degree or 4 years ?? Thanks.
 
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is what they're looking for. Could take you three, could take you twelve.
 
haha i actually think it is. I just think no matter what, that place is a joke. And i doubt if you had the money to learn to fly you'd be too poor to go to a real school.

Kind of. They do have an accreditation, by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, but they're not widely accepted as an accrediting institution. Credits earned at ITT are unlikely to be accepted by, well, anyone else.

You can save a lot of money by not going to ITT. $400/credit hour is crap for a not widely accepted degree.
 
Here's an example from an airline which requires a Bachelor's Degree, at bare minimum:

  • Graduate of a four-year degree program from a college or university accredited by a recognized accrediting organization
  • Degrees obtained from a non-U.S. institution must be evaluated for equivalency to U.S. degrees by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
  • Postgraduate education will be given favorable consideration.

Other airlines may vary, I really don't have any concrete information handy beyond the above.
 
Go to your local community college. Load up on as many transferable credits there as possible. Taking English 1 vs anywhere else doesn't vary too much in terms of the education itself but the price difference is easily +$500 in savings. You can save yourself ALOT of money down the road if you do this.

Personal Ex: Transfering with about 70 credits from my community college with about $4000 in student loans. It would have cost $20000 for the same amount of credits at ERAU or a similar private university.

I'm not trying to bash these universities. I'm just saying do your research. Do you REALLY need to pay $900 for a Speech class? >insert sarcastic comments here<

I'm unwilling to knock on a nontraditional institution because I know that the modern model of one size fits none university education simply doesn't work.

However, the model does work for a lot of folks.
