Pretty much what I expected. Honestly, with all of the recent rulings, everybody should have known that this would be the result. Arbitrators tend not to be very creative people.

I haven't had an opportunity to look at it closely, but is it basically "relative seniority"?

No, it's category and status, just like your guys' list was. Bloch divided them up into CR9 Capt, CR2 & Q400 CA, Jet FO, and Prop FO, and then did it a straight ratio in each category. Looking at where I would have been if I was still there, my relative seniority wouldn't have moved much at all, it looks like.

Mine moved up slightly a couple of percentage points, but it's about where I expected it to be. It's not like the guys that bid CRJ 900 CA got huge gains in seniority, either. The ATL CAs that were around my seniority at 9E are still right around my seniority on the new list. All in all, it looks fair from where I'm standing. The senior guys in MEM are talking about how they lost "2 years" of seniority or how they went from #13 to #55 or some BS. When you run the percentage math they're within +/- 3% of their position on the 9E list.

I was part of the first post merger class...so either way i'm exactly where I thought I would be :) although I noticed i now have about 400 people underneath me...which is nice :)

Um, yeah, you forgot one: Saab CA was #3 group. All the CAs got the first 3 groups, the FOs the bottom 3 groups. In summary, the ones who made out like absolute bandits are all the Colgan Captains hired in 2007, 2008, 2009. Doesn't matter if they were Q400 or Saab. They single-handedly just got to jump over every single FO on the seniority list. Essentially, my fear came true.

On the flip side of the coin, the real losers are the long time Saab FOs at Mesaba. Some of these guys have been there from 2004, 5, 6, and 7, and are now below all jet FOs. I'll admit, that sucks, and is not fair to them.

Congrats to you super-junior Colgan CAs, sherpa, woncie, and all the other ones here. You got your super-seniority jump over people who were physically senior to you.

Did you expect them to be downgraded? Not to mention that just because they are a captain, they don't necessarily have seniority over all jet fo's. There are many that didn't make the cutoff and fell about 800 spots

Do you not understand how this works? Just because some one is a Saab FOs is don't mean they will be below all jet FOs. Say there is a Mesaba Saab FO that is number 280 on their list. Group one (900 CA) has 260 Mesaba pilots and Group Two has 150 Mesaba pilots he would be the 20th Mesaba pilot put into group two even though he is a Saab FO.

If not names, then how about seniority numbers? Sort of what you did in the SLI thread...
