The Mighty Bone

What!?

Edit: Just read up on it a little. I guess O2 isn't working right, and they think thats what got the guy in Alaska?

Not sure about the Alaska thing... I'm not in that community, or fighters in general, so that's not one of the accidents that I have been paying attention to. I could find out, but it wouldn't be releasable anyway (unless the AIB has come out yet, anyone?).

How do you compute the maximum operating altitude of the B-1?

Height of the jackstand + airfield elevation.

I was a Crew Chief on the B-1, these statements cant be more true lol but I will say when it does fly it sure does well!

Thats a very true statement there. Really, my joke is dated, as the B-1 has been doing pretty well for itself following taking up the conventional role.
Yes and their payloads would be Premier executive right now with all the frequent flier mileage they are earning go back and forth for OEF-A. :)

One of the Bones out of Ellsworth flew over my campground at Sturgis in full burner at about 10am some years back. If ever there was a way to re-induce a hangover, that was it.

Awesome!
Back when I was in High School I took a trip out to Muley Point in south eastern Utah, which is a large mesa overlooking the Goosenecks. All day we had B-1's flying low below the mesa and tracking the San Juan river. That night I had one come in at what couldn't have been more than 500ft right over me in full afterburner. I dont think my friends enjoyed my extreme geek-out all the next day. Some people just don't get it.
