Displaced... again.
...Rumor has it that I will be drinking a lot of this in the coming weeks.

I got the call this morning that I have been (im)patiently waiting for - after interviewing back in February, I will be starting class at JetBlue at the end of this month.

I am very excited to be starting at a 'career destination' airline that still has so much room to grow. It was hard to give up the idea of being able to someday fly Heavy International trips. (Which was my goal when I started flying...) But, things change, and now I feel that I am going to be in a place where I can finally start a family. I am also looking forward to someday not having to commute to work via an airplane - even though I know that is at least a few years away and will go away again at least once more in my career. (Although, for now, my commute is going to be even more painful...)

This is turning out to be a GREAT day.
 
Hey, after the AA buyout, you will be able to fly heavy international.

Thanks... you are probably right. The only thing that worries me about that is the 'SLI'... if there even would be a SLI and how not to get TWA'd. Although, in the long run, it would work out with all of the retirements. You have to figure (I would hope) most of the 2000 people on the street have found something bigger/better and going back to -80 FO on reserve would be NG. And... with the retirements I've read that they are going to lose thousands of pilots in the next five years or something crazy like that. No matter what happens, it's bound to be an interesting ride.

Yeah, you can say that again. Although, it seems like there are a lot of ex-Air Shuttle folks over at B6. Have they made you a Captain over at Compass yet? There's been so much movement it must be coming soon. And... how's the 170? Good, Bad, Easy, Hard? (I think that I am going to end up in the 190 which I guess is basically the same plane)
