My next adventure

This Monday I start ATPs Airline Career Pilot Program in Sacramento.

I had tried college a couple times and always felt like I was never getting to where I wanted to be. I will finish the degree, but for now I want to finish the flying. Finish something I started for once.

I want to thank those who have helped me along the way like Polar742, RJMore, Captain_Bob for getting me thinking about the ATP program, Doug and Kristie for creating this site so I can meet cool people to help me along the way. And to the general community, thank you.

Best of luck at ATPs. Remember, though, college will still be there when you're done. When I was 18, college was a stupid, wasteful decision. When I was 23 it changed my life, and for the better. At the risk of being tedious, airplanes are cool, but knowing yourself and what you're really interested in is...well, priceless. Whatever the case, mad props to the community, and may your training go smoothly.

Dude, rock it! Sorry we couldn't get together before you left southeast. Any time you're in Juneau beers are on me and we can share all the southeast aviation stories I can't post on here.

Thanks guys!

Thanks, When story time does roll around I will get my uncle involved. He has some cool stories from flying for LAB, and Haines Airways back in the day.

Rock On!! I was kinda hoping to look you up in ANC someday, but, have a great time with ATP, and keep us posted.

Thanks guys!

Hey, when you're in your cross country phases at ATPs come up to MKE and say "hi!" the beer's on me!

Gear down before landing checklist. Blueline-GUMP. Oh brother, are you ever going to verify that the gear is down.

Good luck!

Goodluck. Not with the flying, goodluck with the loans. Just looked at the price of ALL ATP's career pilot program, holy crap!

Have fun buddy and congrats on taking a step forward for your career. To mirror Boris' sentiment, take the time to complete the degree after you get settled. It can and will give you a good perspective on life as well as an easy out if you decide to hang your spurs up. If you end up in BFL, shoot me a pm and lunch is on me.

Congrats Alec! You should be really proud of yourself, that's a huge step to take. And like Boris said, knowing what you're really interested in and going after it, is worth a lot. I didn't fly at ATP, but I did my IR there at SAC.....some of the best flying memories I have were in NorCal, I miss it. You will do great!!
