Emergency AD grounds all Dassault Falcon 7X

Well that sucks if you have a job flying one of these things. No more flying for you until the FAA concludes their investigation.

It'll be a paid vacation for those guys. Trust me, they aren't paid by the hour and they aren't paid regional pilot wages either. On top of that, the people/companies that can afford to operate a 7X aren't going to balk at keeping their pilots on the payroll while this is sorted out.
 
They most likely fly more than just a 7X. AT&T has plenty more falcons laying around ready to fly. I'm sure others do as well.

This is true, I do suppose things could be worse. The FAA isn't exactly known for it's haste; I wonder how long this investigation is going to take.
 
I'm prreeeetty sure the FAA doesn't have anything to do with the grounding. They're just following suit on the recommendation of the EASA. The EASA, along with Dassault, will be conducting the investigation and finding the solution.
 
Kinda funny how an uncontrolled pitch trim runway grounds a fleet...

meanwhile, we have an "immediate action item" (memory item as it were), for "stab trim runaway". Things that make you go hmmm.....

True. I am surprised on a daily basis what the FAA allows to be "broken" and yet somehow usable for revenue operations or ferried over long distances...

I've practiced stab trim runaway in the sim, and if you're not on top of it, you'll have the joy of either 2 deg nose down or 13 deg nose up trim to "help" land...

Uh it all depends. I'm sure you could find the exception to the no regional wage thing too. There may be some poor schmuck stuck in the mail room or serving coffee every day at the bosses office after a 4 hour commute.
 
My guess is that it is a good time to be sent to flight safety to get typed in one of the other aircraft in the flight department.
