Bay Area Cessna 206 Pilots Wanted

Re: About this company and their IFR rules...

So are you not permitted to enter IMC or be anywhere near it I assume?

There's more to it and that's not entirely correct. However, we probably don't need to be discussing the fine details of company policy on here.

Re: About this company and their IFR rules...

Looked into Aperture but wound up in Alaska instead, happily insulated from those who get their panties in a bunch over semantics. Arguing over the word "become" gave me flashbacks of Clinton dodging impeachment by question what the meaning of the word "is" is!

What I meant was that for those under 40 with a 1st class medical who use it as such, at the end of 12+ months it then only allows for 3rd class privileges. That's in response to talking with a few pilots who were under the impression that they would get 12 months under 1st class, THEN 12 months under 2nd, THEN the remainder being allowed to use it for 3rd class.

Re: About this company and their IFR rules...

Does an applicant have to fly to CA for the interview? Or can it be done over the phone?

Thanks,

Re: About this company and their IFR rules...

Just got an email from the CP asking me to fill out their pilot application form. Has anyone been invited to an interview yet?

Sina,

Did the interview yesterday. It was very pleasent and relaxing no trick question. Be calm be yourself and you'll do fine.

Is there anyone on here that is working here right now... I have an interview with them next week and would just like to get any information possible about them. Since there isn't much online...

Joey, do you know what a glass cockpit is?

A 6 month commitment?!? Or what?? You'll charge your FNGs for the extensive and comprehensive training with which you liberally salt them? Bwahaaaa! Lads! You fly 206s! Regardless of how Googley eyed you are about them, they're swollen 172s with constant speed props!

By the way, I think that would be a terrific name change for your operation, "Googley Eye". But you will have to pay me. I've trademarked it.
That was a mighty fine "and your mother too" four years later [emoji14]

Aperture is still looking for people occasionally by the way. Fun job, great equipment, top notch training. Worth spending at least 6 months at ;)

That post of mine was up for about 30 seconds before I realized how old and stale the thread was and deleted it. The thread appeared in the "Popular Threads Right Now" section. I clicked on it assuming it was timely since it showed up in the "Popular Right Now" list. Why a 4 year old, apparently dead thread would show up there, I have no idea. But it did, and when I realized it I immediately deleted my post. Which, I suppose, also makes it passing strange that you would see my post and respond within mere moments.

But since you did reply, I'll reply back.

I know the company. Well. From it's inception. I never said it might not be fun. I never said it wasn't decent equipment. I'm giving them grief for asking for a training commitment AND for being so full of themselves that they think that's appropriate. They fly 206s! Training commitment for a 206?! That's pretty audacious. We won't even touch the fact that entire company's book value and expenses would add up to a rounding error for Google.

You're... Kinda looking like a tool right now, just saying.

Having known and flown for the company in question, it's a class act. No expense was spared in the interest of safety, super professional operation. 6 months is REALLY short, if you don't want to commit to 6 months, you shouldn't go there, because they actually do invest a fair bit in training and takes time to get somebody up to speed. Plenty of the people coming onboard don't have high performance endorsements or a whole lot of experience flying in complex bravo airspace or a lot of the other... tasks that the job requires. I don't know anybody who wanted to leave within 6 months in the years I was there.

Hey DPhoenix, How strict are they about 120 hours in the last 12 mos?

I wouldn't think terribly strict these days if you were close, but I have no idea, I don't work there anymore.
