What`s left of Chalk's International Airlines

Took this pictures today in Miami, showed up at the seaplane base thinking of checking out the Cafe, which happens to not be open yet, owner and a former Chalk pilot show up at the door and invited me for some Cappuccino and a ton of hangar stories.

Really is a sad sight. But I was unaware that the seaplane base was still active. Looked up at Skyvector and there it is, X44.

The owner of Chalk runs it, right now they have a C206 operating from there and soon a C208 will be flying out of there too. The Grumman is waiting to finish MX and then it will be in the Air again. The owner is a really awesome guy!
 

even more sad when you think that it was not really their fault. The FAA found corrosion in parts of the airplane that can`t be inspected (unless you open the planes wings) and are not required to be inspected, they blamed their MX. MX was actually top notch, brand new PT6 engines, Chalk use to own a factory where they built all the parts that where not available anymore, the landing gear was made by them.
