IFR flight plan - need help/advice

hello all,
I have a quick question I was hoping any controllers or pilots could help me with. I recently finished my instrument rating, and I would like to practice some approaches and holds in actual IFR, My question is this, when I file IFR for practice approaches it is usually at the airport of orginal departure, I would like to go to another airport a few miles east of that airport and practice there sometimes, should I file that second airport as my destination and file 2 flights plans one there and one back, or should I simply put my intentions in the remarks section of the flight plan. for example: departure - KISP, destination KISP, Remarks - practice multiple approaches at KHWV. I am a little confused as to what the best coarse of action would be. Thanks in advance for you help

one flight plan, just put it in the remarks and tell atc whats going on because they don't always get all the flight plan info. As long as there not swamped it should be fine.

If it helps, I just did it yesterday (not the first time). Filed IFR from KAPA to KAPA with KFTG as part of the route. Put "practice approaches at FTG and APA" in the remarks. Every controller was on board.

Just file departure airport to second airport to departure airport. In remarks keep it short and sweet. Practice appchs.

Pretty much what Monk said. Usually when you get your initial clearance limit on the ground before you depart, most every controller you talk to will say, "say intentions". They want to know what approach requested, how its going to terminate (full stop, published missed, holding...) and whats to follow. USUALLY when you tell them they will say you can expect that. Remember if your doing these on an IFR flight plan and clearance they want to know what your going to do in case you lose comms.

WOW....when I was instructing, we couldnt even get practice (ie multiple) approaches around here when its marginal VFR..let alone IFR!! we would have one shot.....of course we may have gone missed for one reason or another....but 2 was the best you could do before they shoot you out of the way to sit and spin!! Our approach SUX!!
