Kenmore Air Seaplane CFI ?

Greetings -

Anyone out there have leads on when/if Kenmore is hiring CFI's to build float time? Anyone on here currently work there? Yes, I want to instruct on floats (getting the add on this spring). Kenmore would work out as it lines into a 135 and/or 121 operations.

Are you getting your add-on at Kenmore? If so, you'll want to make friends with your CFI if that is what you want. They'll probably try you out if you are really serious about it and they have the business.
 
Agreed. I am hoping to talk directly with someone working there as I am also heading to Alaska end of May for some off airport training. I will add my float up there if there is not a direct reason to go to Kenmore right now.

Currently living in SoCal so just going to hang out at Kenmore is not a true option, but we could move there if there was work.
 
Seattle is a nice place to live, and although you mention Kenmore, if you are a CFI there are a number of other fields in the area that you could work at until you get your float CFI. At least that way you're in proximity to Kenmore and could hang out there and get the scoop on things. I found a flat in Downtown Seattle for $600 a month. Tacoma is even cheaper.

Its a long way from Tacoma to Bothell/Kenmore area especially up I-5 or 405 on any given day. The I-5/405 split is where all the fun begins then there's 522

There is also nothing to do in Tacoma on top of it being pretty ghetto.

I also feel this. I have a few, but I had to wait a long time to get them. It's not like how it was just 3 years ago though when the place was hopping with wide-eyed airline pilot wannabes. If you want volume and need to build time quickly, you'd have to go where the international students are.

True and I would be delivering just that, but from what I have been told the only way to move into their float 121 / 135 flying is to instruct there or have a bunch of float time. As with all flying, CFI job is the first there is - just a lot less float operations out there.
