Commercial XC requirements changed?

I'd love to fly something different but around here if it's not a Cessna the price is going to be pretty steep. The only other things are an Arrow that works out to about $150 an hour or a Cirrus that goes for well over $200. 10 hour checkout on the Cirrus too!

It's rates like those that make me happy I live where I do, and know the people I do. I'd never rent a cirrus... Who cares how fast and badass you may look. I'd rather rent my beat to hell arrow for 98 an hour.

But then you can say you flew a Cirrus! Maybe I should start renting mine out.

I just went through a few of my old FAR/AIMs, it looks like 2011 is the first year where they don't specify VFR for the 2 100nm cross countries. But autothrust is right, it looks like the long cross country does still have to be solo.

Actually the change was in October 2009. However the printed version of the FAR/AIM most people use is printed in August... so the 2010 FAR/AIM was printed in August 2009 and was outdated in Octover 2009 after the new change came out. So in the case of the 2010 FAR/AIM some pilots may have been using an outdated FAR/AIM for 14 months if they did not purchase a new one until January 2011.
