Autozone quit doing the checkengine light thing a while ago IIRC. And exhaust can be one of the most frustrating things on a car, especially looking at the temps in the picture. I'd imagine that means lots of snow on the ground, which means lots of road salt, which also means lots of corosion and stuck bolts/nuts.
Check with your local states emissions laws to see if the cat convertor is still covered under warranty. Some states now REQUIRE them to be covered for 10/100 now.
As far as I know they just stopped doing it in the Socialist Republic of CA. I was able to use their code reader in a Nevada store recently. Go figure.
