Aviation Pay (How it Works)

I have a question regarding the pay with the airlines. I know that it's all based on seniority and there's monthly gaurantees ect. My biggest questions is that when you look at the pay scales such as the ones on apc. If you are a FO on the CRJ200 for 3 years you get a $30 hourly pay rate. Now you get upgraded to Captain. Does your pay go down to a 1 year captain pay or is it a 3 years pay for beign with company for 3 years. Then lets say you upgrade planes to the CRJ900 that has better pay. Of coarse you start over as a FO, but do you get FO pay for one year or FO pay for 3 years?

Thanks for the help.

Nope. Longevity with company, not with seat.

:)

Not all companies are like that though, my first job was $25/hr as an FO, no matter how many years you're there, then captains go to $50/hr and an additional $2 an hour a year. No min guarantee...

God, don't talk to me about pay man. I just did my freaking taxes. 10k damn hit for this downgrade.

Oh, I get that man, leaving Alaska took my pay and cut it in half...

10K hit for the downgrade though? Flying Spaghetti Monster that's bad...

You don't start over as an F/O. When I upgraded to EMB120 Capt, I had never flown one before. I went from 1st yr CRJ F/O pay to 2nd year EMB Capt pay.

Thanks for the help.
