I got the call! The problem is, there is a dearth of information about the CommutAir interview process. Does anyone know about the CommutAir interview? Tech questions? HR questions? Written Exam? I have scoured the web and the most recent gouge I can find is from March 2008.

Thanks!!!

Thanks! Any other information about the airline would also be appreciated. They don't give you too much about the company on the website (History, etc.).

If anyone has any insight as to how to properly answer these questions and what to avoid saying, that would also be much appreciated.

  • why do you want to work for Commutair?
  • Why should we spend the money to train you when you could leave right away and fly a regional jet?
  • How did you hear about CommutAir?
  • Tell me about your flying history
  • How do you feel about being based in Cleveland?
  • What are some of your strengths and weaknesses?
  • What kind of person would your friends describe you as?
  • Tell me about your current job?
  • What did you do to prepare for the interview?
  • What qualities should a Captain have?
  • What qualities could you bring to CommutAir?
  • Do you have any questions for us?
  • What would you change about yourself?
  • Rate yourself form 1-10.
  • What would you students say about you?

The best advice I can give you is to come up with your own answers using the book I referenced earlier. I don't think there's a general answer for these HR questions.

Just as an update, I was offered the job. The aforementioned gouges on this thread were 100% spot on. The written exam was very easy, albeit the interviewer was quite intense. Overall, it was a good experience.

I love the last HR question on the above mentioned gouge...

Knowing our current pay scale, have you looked at your finances lately and figured out if you will be able to make a living working for us?

How do they expect you to answer this.....Not one person can answer this truthfully without a trustfund...or serious "other" income!

I agree. I'm hoping things get better for these guys. No professional pilot should make less than 30K starting salary. When this purported pilot shortage strikes, hopefully things will get better for all of us!

Didnt you also get an offer from AWAC or some other regional?

They are upfront about this which is a good thing in my opinion.

I either missed the part about the sim, or just plain confused lol..
Is there a sim portion, and if so, what does it consist of?
