Gear up

I seem to remember seeing this airplane on eBay a while back, with a link to the video... I don't remember if it was being sold as-is or if it had been fixed up and the seller was just being up-front about its damage history.

This one still amazes me.

Three people, that we can tell...in the plane...Casual conversation going on from the base to final turn...sigh

I guess he failed the checkride. I wonder what happened to the DE/check airman?

The story on youtube is wrong. They were on a flight review. And it's a C-177.

The guy who was flying came and spoke at an FAA sponsored CFI conference and at a WINGS event in the Memphis area. Said it was simple distraction (they were doing a power off 180) and after everything stopped, all you could hear was "that damn horn."

Old video, I always heard it was on a checkride too! And that wasn't a C177 Cardinal, Cardinals don't have semi cantilevered wings... When the camera pans outside on landing you can clearly see the wing struts there...

Observation FAIL!

Huh. I could have sworn they told us they were flying a Cardinal. But there's clearly a wing strut.
