Hey guys I am wondering if anyone knows if any flight schools are hiring in the Central Florida area or if anyone is looking for a pilot. I got a CFI/CFII single engine airplane and soon I will have my MEI

TT 360
Multi 91
PIC 174
Night 42
dual 6.1
XC119

Flight Safety Academy in Vero Beach is looking for CFI's. And yes... they take 0 or very little dual given.

OFT in Kissimee may have openings soon. I spoke with someone their the other day that said most of the instructor are applying with 121's and they don't have enough in the pipeline since most students are foreigners.

Embry-Riddle is also hiring with 0 dual given I know a guy that just started the new hire class last monday, I know everyone "hates" riddle but they have great benefits, not to mention you can get a free bachelors or masters degree.

The owner of OFT is a real IDIOT !!! I'm sure others on this site can vouch

Especially when he offers illegal jobs to foreigns...he offered a friend of mine "a job" picking up students from MCO/MIA, doing administration, even a position as CFI, all for free and on a M1 Visa (note : the guy would not do any training)

I spoke to NR and that`s what she said too, I would go back to FSA if I could, it`s a good place to work and Vero is a lot better then many other places in Florida...still have some stuff in storage there.

Just went to Vero last night. If there's one good thing about Vero that I've noticed it's controllers. Very cool place to fly

I worked there and it wasn't that bad. If you want to build time quick this is the place to go. Just don't get caught up in the gossip. Just show up, fly with your students, and go home. The problem is tom many flight instructors get caught in the gossip and that when management will have it out for you. Any place you go to will have the typical employee owner BS. Just do the job and don't complain. Have you sat down and ever spoke with Mark? he really is good guy. He just a business owner wearing many hats. Don't get me wrong, I don't endorse illegal visas but you have these practices in all lines of business.

Swisspilot have you gone to little Brazil on I drive? You think those employees are all legit? Come on, you know the practice of business owners from Latin America?

The healthcare industry here isn't so bad, just look at Zimbabwe!

Completely dumb way to try to accept something as being right.

I'm not saying it right. Your not going to change they way an owner operates, so take advantage of what they have to offer and move on in 1 year. They have a great program for a CFI's that wants to get to a 121 fast. Again don't get into the politics, just show and do the job.

I'm not saying doing tricks is right, I'm just saying you do what you gotta do to get your ratings and then you move on.

I can do this all night cfitime

Yea Marc, what a great guy he is. Remember that time back in February 09 when we all struggling because our student count was down and he lowered our pay from 30/hr to 22/hr, and used the poor economy as a scapegoat for doing so? Even though as a flight instructor there, you only got paid when you flew. Or how bout getting paid 10/hr for ground lessons and sim lessons? Or that time when he hired a chief pilot whose sole responsibility was to come in every day and tell us how he gets 50 applications a day as a way of "motivating" us. Or how bout that fuel surcharge that the students had to pay, even though they had to pay for their own fuel on their solo x countries, so in essence, they were paying for fuel twice.

I actually do agree that talking when Marc in person, he actually seems like an ok guy, but cfitime, actions speak way louder than words. That guy is cutthroat business man through and through who is out to make money and that is it.

That's not a businessman, that sounds like a......

Anyway, a businessman would adapt to the environment and he would know that fuel surcharges and making students pay for fuel on a wet rental is not the way to get students to come back.
