Great Lakes Interview

I received a call today from Great Lakes, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a synopsis of what the interview will be like. Any suggestions on things such as what to study would also be great!

Guessing: know your IFR stuff, holding speeds, how to read a plate fully. Also remember to level off 10% or 20% prior (climb at 4k per minute start leveling off 400-800 early). The 1900 climbs like a mother and you'll be low a lot leaving a B airspace and you may blow through 200knots under the shelf before you can change your diaper.

Lakes pay blows by the way. Enjoy the interview process and apply for food stamps.

So I should probably pass on this if I get offered a job? Or should I just opt out of the interview all together? I checked around some and to be honest I'm starting to get second thoughts. Company doesn't seem as stable as they did when I applied and some of the guys who do work there are surprised that there are hiring interviews at all.

Interview experience never hurts.

Exactly. Like I've said before, you don't want your first airline interview to be with a company you really, really really want to work for. I've had one or two interviews with places that I pretty much knew I was not going to accept a class date with, but did it anyway for the experience. It will only help you...

Great lakes would be good for interview prep. Especially if you can get there relatively cheap.

What happened to your Part 135 aspirations?

Still there, but I'm looking all over. Right now I still need 7 hours of night to qualify for Part 135 PIC.

You should ask user rockman2343@aol.com here on JC for advice on whether you should take the job and/or interview, or not.

He'll give you solid first-time advice.......

:)

Best of luck, like people have said, if you can interview for the experience on the cheap, do it!

And there was just a gouge posted about GL a few days ago!

They sent me another email asking me to interview, but i just can't go there. Especially when i feel like im so close to Eagle or AWAC giving me a call.

Explain this if you got a minute..

I'd rather not browse your 1,024 posts, sorry man.

Thanks-
