Colgan guys that didnt get paid this morning

Not getting paid would stress me the heck out. So stressed that I'd have to reference the FAA's 'I'M SAFE' checklist and note that I'm not medically fit to fly.

Calling in sick while I waited for some time to unstress me out would be a downer, but golly, it's better to fly safe with a clear head than risk making a mistake and causing an accident. Can't see anybody faulting a pilot for that.

This is horrific. The one thing I tell my staff is that you don't mess with people's pay or benefits. Do whatever it takes to get it right the first time.

First of all, it's not even a clean transition. If you are paid on the 5th, it's for time worked in the last pay period of 2010 through 12/21/2010. They should have paid you through ADP on 12/31 and then begun with this new company on the 20th. I'll bet that, in doing it this way, you will get two W-2's. I'll bet you were shorted because they were so dumb they started charging Federal Unemployment and other beginning of the year taxes again with this new company even though it was a year end paycheck. For example, Federal Unemployment is on the first $7000 in earnings, NJ unemployment, disability are on the first $29,600 in earnings, etc. I'll bet they started from scratch instead of giving you credit for what you paid in early in 2010. Dumber than dirt! I hope they have their own unemployment paperwork completed!

If I could call out I would consider it but at this point in time it simply isn't an option.

Colgan pilots just need to be like ppaaiiddboss

Nothing yet for me. Got a call from payroll; apparently if you recently changed your direct deposit account, you may have been paid to the OLD account. They are sending me a check instead.

In addition to this, how are you going to meet your nutritional needs during a trip if you can't buy food? At their pay rates, Colgan should set up a "soup kitchen" in the crew rooms for this. Or at LEAST give cards or meal vouchers. Won't happen, though. Bet management got paid on time.

As a matter of fact.....they did. ;)

Please, Colgan pilots can grab some leftovers from the fridge before they leave, as long as they ask their parents nicely. Who are we kidding? Someone goes to Colgan because they can afford to make nothing.

They don't live with their parents, they have bills.

Extreme :sarcasm: as always.

tinfoil hat time.....i could see this as a management ploy to see just how long they can get guys to keep flying and working, without getting paid.

stfd! Stfd! Stfd!

I remember when I was at Colgan and complaining day in and day out about that place, and everyone would say "The grass isn't always greener somewhere else blah blah blah". Well I gotta say, the grass is DEFINITELY greener. In fact, Colgan isn't even grass, its a mud pit in the pine barrens.

There are things I complain about here at Republic, but they are NOTHING like what goes on at Colgan. I am surprised that place is still hanging by a thread. Leaving Colgan was the best career decision I ever made. Period.

For any FO's who don't have much invested there, send me your resume and I'll walk it in to Republic. Hiring is just getting started here. Trust me, you won't regret leaving CJ.

Cjc won't exist much longer. Mesaba or republic? That would Be the question. To leave for colgans current work rules would be ignorant and short sighted.

Never regret leaving colgan, with that said there isn't going to be a Colgan much longer.

yes and no. Does CJC suck? Yes. Was it great for my logbook and career? Looks like it.

I have 5.5 years here and have accumulated 3200turbine PIC. I would say I am in a relatively good position to move on this year where my friends at many other airlines have not upgraded yet.
