First Interview!

Today I got the call from Great Lakes and have my first 121 interview on the 20th! I am very excited and a bit nervous. Wish me luck! :)

Congrats man. I know you were really getting frustrated with not getting called by anyone. Glad to see something opening up for you.

Some advice that I got prior to my first interview- never turn down an interview but don't accept every job offer.

That is exactly my thought. I have been working hard and applying everywhere and it is pretty demoralizing when you never get a positive e-mail or call.

Topp Gunn - I have read it all before lol. I look at Lakes this way. I don't care about how low of pay it is. I am in a committed relationship with a partner who brings in more than enough to support the two of us. We have no kids or substantial debt.

Now sure if I had kids and lots of debt than there is probably no way it would work, but I know given my current times/qualifications its apparently not good enough for better regionals so I need to do something about that. If flying for Lakes for even 6-8 months gets my multi time way past mins and prior 121 experience than I am all for it. On the other hand if I feel that I am comfortable with the plane and an upgrade after only a year or so is more than probable than I would definitely consider staying. If that were to happen I could theoretically have the hours needed for a legacy carrier right when I turn 30.

All I will say is for everyone that doesn't agree with Lakes there is certainly Pro's and Con's for EVERY regional - even the BEST ones. Everyone's situation is different and I think people need to understand that before making judgment.

Yeah I've got an app in and its still "not reviewed" and I have e-mailed and even tried to call the HR lady with a polite follow up. From what I hear is they had around 8,000 applications. Not sure if thats totally true, but I don't know. It might be a few more months at this rate.

I would love to work for them! Do you know anyone over their or anyone that could help?

Go on Airlineapps.com and try that "email your resume" function to AWAC. Be patient. When did you send them an email? Did you write a good cover letter?
