Who's working on Christmas?

Off December 13th-January 5th...DRIVING to Fort Myers this year for 10 days, just can't do the non rev thing over the holidays anymore. You know it has to be bad since I loath driving across the country less than non rev travel.

Once you learn how to fly little planes again, you could rent one and fly! :D

Montréal is a great city. Check if Churchill’s Pub is still open. Nice place to hang out, and kill time

I am not...as one of those "lazy" state workers I have a week of paid holiday.

That said, if anyone is stuck in CMA (unlikely) or surrounding areas (SBA, VNY, BUR, or increasingly-long-drive from LAX) you are quite welcome at the family abode.

I love how there are cross-airline rumors. Ours was supposedly a pilot though.

Oh, this wasn't a rumor. This is was coming down at o-dark thirty in the morning, seeing her crashed out on one of those couches next to the piano, bags right next to her, hotel pillow from the room under her head. I asked "Rough night?" and she said she'd been down there since about 2 am.

I rented a 172 again the other day and did some touch and goes, it was fun and I didn't break anything so that was good. Renting gets too expensive for a long trip, need someone that will let me borrow their airplane for a couple weeks :)

How many hours of dual received to get checked out to rent it? I'm assuming that you hadn't flown GA in at least a year by asking that; correct me if I'm wrong.

It's been four years for me, and I'd like to take a few friends up this spring at a local airport and I'm wondering what an average is for someone to feel comfortable in a Cessna again.

Ah, you'll be fine...like riding a bike. I went out for a spin in a Grumman AA1 not too long ago, and the only thing that'll get you is how slow it accelerates and climbs. Now that's scary. :D

I can imagine.

I'm hoping that three hours or less is all it will take. That is within my price range.

I got checked out at the Aviation Center @ ARB this past spring. Nice folks, good prices, and pretty nice airplanes. I got checked out in an hour and it had been about 18 months since I'd flown SE. Do some studying ahead of time and it'll help out a lot.

It really is like riding a bike. Have fun!!

Give me a call, dude. I'll be back in DC for a few days.

So, for another question, which one of you guys is flying me back to DC on Christmas eve? Since it's the redeye out of San Diego, make sure you don't hit Santa!

You gonna have a car Tony? I'll be in BWI for Christmas Eve, come grab me and then we can all have a big JC Christmas in DC.

I'll be doing some form of work most likely. Will be in Burbank... probably for the next month.

I will be working. It may be a white christmas from what I heard on the news. It may snow Christmas Eve or Christmas Day so I am hoping it will.

It was ten years since I had flown one and I only did an hour with an instructor. The only thing that was hard to get back into was landing the thing again. I've been sitting too far off the ground for the last few years so my flare height is off. It's coming back to me now though.

Christmas vacation!

Off from now 'till the 4th of Jan. It only took 12 years. And to think people (except for Doug) badmouth the maddog.

I had a 7 day trip over Christmas last year, so it's a big change.

I wont be flying, but i am working a double throwing bags for American Eagle on Christmas. Nothing like working 5am till 8pm on a holiday. At least I get holiday pay.
