102 and 221 over the summer

The title kinda says it all. Would it be possible at all? That is of course if they are both scheduled 1st half 2nd half of the summer class schedule?

I'm trying to complete everything as fast as possible. I already have a undergrad so I don't have to worry about the majority of the Essential Studies and other non AVIT classes.

Is there any waiver allowed for doubling up on flight classes or is that a struck no-go item?

Thanks

Nope not possible. 102 is a 9 week course and very few finish on time. You cannot do two flight courses at the same time unless it aerobatics or seaplane.

I was under the impression that during the summer they were 6 weeks versus 9?

Most other courses are 6 weeks but 102 is long and there is a lot to cover so 6 weeks would not do.

During the summers, 102, 325, and 414 are nine week courses due to the length. All of them are nearly 30 lessons long. There is a lot of content and those are courses you don't want to rush through without a solid understanding.

323 in the first 3 weeks followed by 325 (ground schools overlapping) in the nine week session has also been allowed before.

Ok, so with all that being said, what, if any 2 flight programs, can be accomplished during one summer session? Thanks

Considering your in Florida, find yourself an FBO somewhere; pretty much anywhere in your state that is cheap and that also has a 4 year college. Go to it and major in something to fall back on and earn your ratings for cheaper. An airline WILL NOT CARE where you got your degree from, if flying ends up not being for you a perspective outside employer more likely could. Set yourself up for options man, sometimes things don't end up working out the way you plan

But guess what airlines care about my friend, HOURS!!! And where do you have ALOT better of a chance at getting those hours?! By going to a collegiate flight program, earning your ratings, and then most get hired by the program. Thats what matters the most.

You could have 3 times more hours at my local flight school for the price

Im speaking from the point of being hired as a CFI. Good luck at that outside the university in this economy.

Its not like UND hires every person who goes through Comm Aviation and becomes a CFI. Paying UND 60k; so you can hopefully get a job there as a CFI for 12 dollars an hour max seems foolish to me. More power to you though if that is the way you want to go about things

I agree.

There are plenty of ways to build hours for cheap, or better yet... getting paid for it. It's all about networking...

Out of the hours I currently have, I've only 'paid' for ~90? Did my PPL Check ride at 32 hours, and the rest was history... I've towed gliders, ferried planes, flew 208s in africa, SICed in a navajo... Oh and I'm sitting in John's 221 class daydreaming.

Dumb flights ruin weekends )= ...who else has lower bowl tickets for tomorrow's game?

Never mind that 12 an hour is UND's Lowest pay grade with a top out at 24 an hour.

Does Canada not have the same private pilot privileges and limitations as we do? Somehow I thought that until you got your commercial certificate and an appropriate job you had to pay for your flight time...

Private pilots can do glider tows, If I remember correctly you need a 100 pic in Category and 3 tows then you get signed off. Flying in Africa which in sure was a charitable thing is perfectly fine. The rest, maybe not exactly legal in the U.S with just a private.
