I've had various people wrinkle their nose at me and tell me "but it's old"...I don't care. We're getting new avionics this month so that I can go direct to places and shoot the approach here when the weather is less than 1100/3, and it has an...imposing ramp presence.

Weight and balance data runs something like: "Random combinations of fuel, passengers, and cargo, are permitted." Now that is a capable airplane.

I'll do one better, I can tell you not only where it is, but the status of its annual inspection and panel upgrade, along with current registration number.

Both of those airplanes are also the best flying airplanes I've ever flown. The Martin was so perfectly balanced, it seemed - not to mention that you make a hell of a racket blasting off. The Twin Bonanza doesn't make quite as much racket, but she's distinct, and a very stable instrument platform with a heavy feel. Not to mention good short field performance.

That is the original paint scheme...and the one she still bears.

I can't wait to try a Boeing out, mind you... :) But if someone wanted to pay me well to fly a TwinBo for the rest of my career I'd do it tomorrow.

And certainly one that saw a lot of our nation's modern history, too. Making me get all sentimental thinking about it.

I mean, all the birds in the thread are beautiful birds in their own way; and truth to tell, everyone has a "best looking" airplane in their individual logbooks as "best looking" varies person to person just as ice cream flavors do.

For my own logbooks, its hard to pick out just one.
