Best looking airplane in your log book.

I realize it's a total hijack, but some day, some day, it will be Mine. Or not. I give you the very essence of aircraft beauty. Unfortunately minus the four high velocity 20mm cannon that were so horribly adept at ripping our forefathers to tiny little bloody pieces in defense of one of the most evil regimes ever to infest the earth. Hey, I don't have to be politically consistent here, do I?

That's the same kind of bucket my old man rode around in over the hostile skies of Vietnam. I second this motion. However, I do agree with Boris regarding his later post. Just because you like the plane, it doesn't mean you support the ideology.

I may have misunderstood you, but that's not an A-4 of any stripe. That's a Bae Hawk we bought and cleverly renamed. Welcome to the multi-national conglomerate world.

The FW190 is an amazing looking airplane. I like the Jugs, Corsairs, Typhons and Skyraiders better than I do the "pretty" airplanes like Mustangs, Spitfires and the like. Probably the only two warbirds that are generally regarded as "pretty" that I really like are the FW190 and the Sea Fury.

The Corsair is a sexy beast in it's own right.

Regarding the dogfight during the "Soccer War", that result had a lot more to do with the pilots than it did the airplanes.

The FAS' unsuccessful ACM tactic execution does not really have any relation to the capabilities of the airplanes (which were actually pretty evenly matched). If the aircraft had been swapped, and all else remained the same, we'd be talking about how the Corsair had lost the last dogfight between piston-engined fighters.

Being the A-7 Corsair II, it could technically go in the ugliest plane you've flown but for me, I love Vought products and I think it's a thing of beauty.

I dont know why but since I was a kid and the Corsair constituted our Air National Guard fleet, Ive thought it was one of the coolest looking jets of all time.
