This the first variant, the -8F. Same as the -400F, no need for an extended upper deck. I'm not sure how long the -8 pax upper deck will be.I always thought the 800 was gonna have a stretched second deck too
With only 7,000 feet of a 15,000-foot runway remaining, it's obvious the margin of error is small," says Capt. Stemer.
I still feel safer in a Boeing!
So who's the winner right now. The A-380 or the 748?
Edit: Never mind. The 380 takes aloft 300,000 more pounds. Bummer.

if it ain't a Boeing than i ain't going.......
Does it matter? How much demand is there to haul that kind of weight?

Obviously, both Boeing and Airbus marketing departments believe the demand is there.
huh?I still feel safer in a Boeing!
really?if it ain't a Boeing than i ain't going.......
Thank you.Nice marketing slogan from Boeing, but I find it incredible that there are pilots that do not look beyond something as superficial as, what is essentially, skin color, to the deeper issues in the design.
It's worse than that. 1.3 million is the DESIGN takeoff weight. They loaded the 74-8 up over it's max design weight for the test (not by a lot over, the design is 975k).
I don't know. I don't see Boeing making new jumbo jet designs. Modifying a 40 year old design isn't new territory.
From Wiki: "Although Airbus originally accepted orders for the freighter version, production has been suspended until the A380 production lines have settled. No firm date has been offered for delivery of the first freighter"Who's flying the 380 Freighter? Have any been delivered?
