I'm picking up a couple friends soon in KSAN. Going to file IFR into KSAN, but it would be simpler leaving VFR if that's even doable. Whatcha think? I've never called up a Bravo Clearance Delivery and asked for a VFR departure....
I think it is as simple as calling the clearance delivery frequency on your Jep chart and requesting a departure clearance.
IDK why, but just since its VFR out of a Class B. I've done it 500+ times from Class C but never VFR out of a B.
Thanks.... Just don't want to look like a dork in from of the passengers. "NXXXXX, why are you calling me for a VFR departure...."

that's not how I took this...to me this was him trying to avoid an unnecessary radio call. What makes you think a class B has the authority to deny VFR operations?
. Landmark takes great care of us and they will drop us off anywhere we like nearby. We go for lunch, maybe ice cream at Ghirardelli and then they come get us.

I go in and out of SAN VFR all the time. Why would it be a problem? If you have to hold (VFR) inbound you can usually see an orca at Sea World which is just northwest of the airport. In all reality VFR is way quicker than IFR any day in a GA aircraft because of speed and spacing. Of all socal airports I really love SAN. So do you call clearance delivery before taxi?
I would say yes. Same as C.
some airports require a call to departure clearance for any departure...

Are they still charging their $25 fee?

They may hold VFR traffic for IFR arrivals/departures.
Something like that, but they waive it with a fuel purchase, which I *think* was 20 gallons. Either way, $25 is cheaper than 2 taxi rides!

Ever tried to get into LAS when it's busy VFR.
"Your going to have to wait a little while. Remain clear of Class Bravo."
