Gliders

so is this excursion happening? if so, do you want it on the schedule and want me to collect the attendee names?

If so, i need to know by Friday so i can get it on there and get it included with the rest of the registration info.

Thanks!

It is a somewhat weather dependent type of activity (I had to cancel all three days I tried to fly last year). I'll try to get in touch with the operators again tomorrow. Is there a rough count of how many are interested in going?

you tell me....looks like from above, you had 4 including yourself. i would love to...but not a pilot :( and i just wont have time :( :(

just need to know if you'd like me to do anything registration wise to help you get a more accurate count as we come up to show time

You definitely do not need to be a pilot to do this.

Just spoke with Michael, we tentatively have room for half a dozen of us on Tuesday, Oct 19th around noon. He said it was fine for me to take you guys up too, so if anyone else has Commercial Glider currency, that would save us a few bucks. Probably best just to PM me with your email address, and I'll keep anyone interested informed of the details.

Aerotow is $60 for 2000', which is pretty reasonable. Don't know about the winch yet, if there are enough of us going, it sounds like they will set it up for us.

Kristie, if you want to put something on the event website, feel free use me as the point of contact.

Just got another call. For cost, areotow plan on a ballpark of $150, but cheaper for a winch launch. Cheaper still if it ends up being me doing the flying. I don't have a definite answer about the winch yet, but as soon as I hear, I will be sure to keep you all posted.

I haven't put a deposit down yet, and will hold off for a few days until I get some more firm confirmations. You can cancel up to 24 hours before in any case.

so are these intro flights? or do i need to be raited?

Good to know. I've wanted to get the rating and this might help me catch the bug. so 150 an hour?

Gliders are usually priced per flight, so it kind of depends on the weather how long it will be. Worth the $150 though, my club charges $100 for intro flights (with the glider and tow pilot doing it for free).
