Looking for a CSIP in Denver

Hey all,
Looks like I will be starting my flight training here soon and was wondering if any of you know of or are a CSIP in the Denver area. Specifically KBJC. I will be training in a privately owned plane so I’m thinking I might need someone not affiliated with a flight school? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I stopped by an open house at IA a couple weekends ago. They were busy but weren't too friendly to me. In their defense, I was wearing a Mooney t-shirt and wasn't dressed like a potential customer. Seemed like a decent operation overall but that's without investigating too deeply.

Yeah I am very familiar with Western. I am gonna be doing my training in my pops plane and he had it leased to them for a while. As I recall they couldnt train me in that plane unless it was leased (which it isnt and wont be again) with them or the instructor was a CSIP. I really want to find a freelance guy or gal out there and to be honest I dont think they need to be a CSIP (except for the Western thing, insurance I believe). If there is someone out there that couldnt get on with a flight school and is a good CFI I would like to give them the hours.

Contact your local Cirrus sales office. I think it's Bill Settle's territory but I'm not positive.

Pops's insurance may require a CSIP instructor. That's not sn inexpensive program for a CFI to go thru, so finding an independent won't be easy.

I don't know how Western works, but if their CFI's are independent contractors, you may be able to get one of them to give you instruction.

Its awesome that I got a plane to train in and its gonna cost me quite a bit less but it being a Cirrus and issues I have had with Western this is quite the pain in the ass. I really appreciate all the info. Something will get worked out.

Bull honky. I think the school is being stubborn to get it on lease back again. Just a guess.

I teach in airplanes all over town, all you would need to do is name that flight school and that CSIP on your insurance and you would be set.
That is how we teach in privately owned planes that are not on lease back here.

Exactly! To be quite honest I really havent had any good experiences with them and therefore do not want to train with them. I think a move to KAPA or KFNL is gonna be the best solution.

If that's the case, contact the folks at Independence Aviation at KAPA. It's a Cirrus Training Center and a portion of its customer base train in their own airplanes (I'm a renter-member but I don't teach with them).
