Flying pipeline

Me and my buddy put this together from my pipeline route. It's about a 6 hour flight, edited down to 10 minutes, re-edited down to 4 minutes to fit on youtube. Enjoy!

Any feedback would be great!

Cool video! Looks like fun flying! Man I wish I could find me one of those pipeline gigs somewhere near San Antonio!:D

Wow, awesome video!! Thanks for sharing! It certainly looks like a lot of fun. Just because i'm a little unclear, what exactly are you doing during pipeline patrol flights?

Watched your engine out video to.

"Tally-ho I'm going down"
:rotfl:

Me too...damn! It's unreal how calm you stayed.

Yeah that was damn impressive, between him and the controller you would have thought they were discussing dinner plans if you could only make out tone. Well done sir.

We fly at around 500' AGL looking for boring things like markers or signs that mark the underground pipeline so people are aware it's there. The more exciting stuff (and more important) we look for are people digging near or over the pipeline, any signs of leaks (dead vegetation or animals, suspicious puddles, etc), and fires near the line.

Like most flying, it's about 95% pure boredom and 5% insanity (and occasional fear).

Thanks everyone! Yeah, that whole off-airport landing was definitely a less fun video to make than this one. :laff:

Reynolds Aviation. Based out of Baytown, TX. 54T, to be exact.

I liked how the controller basically told the police helicopter he was going to go help you.

Yeah, I found it odd at the time, but I'm very thankful she did. I wasn't on the ground for more than 60 seconds by the time they arrived.

Cool video, but that emergency landing is even more impressive. That's about as calm as it gets.

Way to go man...both videos are superb. Very impressed at how calm and cool you stayed during the engine out. Well done, sir!
