Attack of the Communist Crop Dusters!

it looks like a drag machine.

Indeed. I've seen cruise speed published as somewhere around 160 knots. But, that said, I think it might qualify for the Jet Class at Reno, if you could get them to approve it (doubt it would be hard, seeing as its less than 15 degree's of wing sweep). Sure, you would get last, but it might just be the coolest jet in the class.

Not only has Putin been one, he was out fighting forest fires with one about two weeks ago. http://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/article/co-pilot-putin-helps-put-out-wildfires/412123.html

Politics having nothing to do with it, that'd make a great "Badass Putin is Badass" avatar.

This is actually a really sweet looking airplane. I wonder what the takeoff distance is on one of these.

Their website says 1000 meters for water, 700 for land. Landing data, 1300 meters for water, 1050 for land. Not to shabby for a MTOW of around 82,000 pounds.

I have it on good authority that Sharks have a whole week devoted to Putin. He wrestles tigers, he flies airplanes, he saves hostages, he fights fires. He's the problem solver.

I'm starting to think that Putin is Russia's Chuck Norris.

He sure as hell didn't get elected by telling the Russians that "I can see America from my house..."

Are those headsets the ones with the "cosmetic flaw" that sell for something like $59 dollars? Forgot where I saw the ad......

we got one too

You laugh, but think about how many city centers are near bodies of water. I bet a BE-200 could shave at least 45 minutes off a Washington-New York shuttle, or Boston-Philly, Chicago-Detroit, London-Paris, etc.

That would be a heck of a status symbol to belly on up to Wall St. in a jet floatplane. :)

Honestly, its not a half bad idea, when you consider the manufacture lists 320 knots as the economy cruise speed and 380 as maximum cruise. If you could get the big cities like NYC-DCA/BOS to go to a seaplane based service, you could clear out a lot of the congestion at the airports.

Or you could just move the building to where you are with one of these guys

Shaving 45 mins off a DCA/NY or BOS/PHL trip would require a little more miracle than T/O-landing on water.

36 mins

True, but I'm talking more on the end of driving out to an airport, showing up 90 minutes early to get in line to have the TSA inspect your kibbles-n-bits, and the drive from the airport. :)
