Headset Question

So i recently acquired a "new to me" Bose X headset and had the chance to take it flying with me today. I plug it in and the headset works but the mic doesn't, i plug it in on the right seat... works fine. My instructor tells me that they have issues with Bose headsets on the left seat of the seminole and we'd try a different plane tomorrow, but why would the left jacks be any different than the right?

No clue. I have about 500 hours in '01 model Seminoles, with a Bose headset from both the left and right seat with no issues.

How does it work with the radio, vs intercom?

I've found that if the intercom squelch is set wrong, it makes it seem like the mic isn't working, but it works just fine with the radio.

In nearly 1000 hours in a Seminole I never had any issues with the Bose. Seems like the flight school has some mis-wired mic jacks.
