Pinnacle will NOT be at the event

Sorry to hear that Doug. It really is a shame nowadays that you can't expect people to do what they say they will, especially large companies. It really is a big loss for those attending the event, but even more of a big loss for Pinnacle. It is impossible to find a better group of people anywhere, either on the internet or in real life.

We do appreciate all the work you and Kristie do to make this community what it is today. I hope you know that there are hundreds of us out here that are willing to help in any way we can.

In a related note, have you contacted a certain Atlanta based "super regional". Not sure if there are plans to hire, but there are certainly rumots of it. If you need me to write an email to our management to at least float the idea past them I'd be more than willing to do so. Just say the word.

:yeahthat: I super appreciate everything the two of you are throwing behind this. Shame you can't just quit Delta and do this full time. At least you'd be home a lot more, and you could work in your boxers with a beer in hand. Hey, it's a conference call. They don't gotta know.

Is it still ATL based, or is it SLC based now? :)

I've sent some email to the home office in Utah, but I'm just going to break down and call when I get to JFK. I'd call her on Skype but methinks m seat guest wouldn't like that! Ha!

Speaking of a small world, the guy in 1D used to fly A-10's with our very own MikeD!

I'll bet his ears are burning right now! :)

Doug began this thread sounding agitated.....and few threads down he is all mellow-the Cerveza must have kicked in!:)

Nah, I just had my Jerry Macguire moment, it passed and I can choose to be bitter or refocus my efforts on the core mission. Getting your butts in airline seats and helping you guys move up the food chain.

Get angry. Accept your anger. Find peace with your feelings and set it free.

For those of you that were looking forward to meeting representatives from Pinnacle, they will not be attending.

I'm not very happy about this.

Bummer, dude...thanks for the work on this convention, though.

I don't know if I wanted the thread to go there, but I'm taking this really personal because I'm a type of guy that takes people at their word.

Maybe I'm the last of the altruists or something, but PT Barnum made a few prophetic quotes about my type.

Nothing fills me more with annoyance than "Sure, we'll be there" followed by "on second thought something more important came up, I have to iron my cat". Jack Bauer is a ridiculously bad example of this, actually - count the number of times he says "I give you my word!"

I'm sure our management talks to their management (probably more vice versa) but if you think it will help I'll hit up the ASA side to see if they're interested. We still have our own HQ in Lanna. Just lemme know.

Certainly was, they even closed up shop a couple hours early on Friday, I was pretty shocked. You know how we roll man, I'm not ashamed the event is in Las Vegas, mix a little bit of business with pleasure, we all have a good time.

Got a conference call set up today! ;) Will let you know how it goes.

Don't be afraid the name drop if you have to. I'm more than willing the vouch JC. Afterall, I wouldn't even be at "the company" without something from JC throwing in my resume and giving me the number of a certain base ACP. I really would like to be one of the recruiters there anyways. It's a good way to network with the other recruiters.

If you decide to give this another go next year, I recommend that we start up a committee and spread the workload out a bit. You and Kristie really shouldn't be bearing this great load by yourselves. We should all be frustrated together.:D

Very zen, there. Been hanging with the Dali Lama?

When you're 22 years old, get chicken pox during the summer for the second time in your life, you read a lot of books you wouldn't normally read when you're holed up in a dark room for two weeks.

Seven Pillars, baby!

How about a consolation prize from Pinnacle?

Some tote bags, clicky pens, or maybe even just a list of contacts that would have been distributed during attendance. :)

I'm going to see if they can spare at least one recruiter.

I'll let you guys know what they say or if they say nothing.

Sadly, I won't be able to attend either. But it seems an appropriate place to add another "thanks for what you do", headaches and all.

Tell them to send MP! He's the man!
